Camilo Cruz

Camilo Cruz is a founding board member and the current treasurer of the Richard V. Cruz Memorial Foundation.

Camilo was involved in the creation of the Foundation which is dedicated to commemorating the life
of his late father Richard V. Cruz.  Inspired by his father's legal work, Camilo earned a Master's Degree in Public Policy (criminal justice emphasis) from Claremont Graduate University in 1998.

After receiving his degree, Camilo served as Senior Policy Advisor to the Los Angeles City Council where he helped create the Community Court program in Los Angeles.  Camilo is currently the Community Relations Director for the Los Angeles Superior Court.  He is responsible for managing the court's educational and outreach programs, as well as efforts to expand alternative sentencing for criminal defendants.

Camilo is currently enrolled in a Master of Fine Arts program for studio photography at California State University, Long Beach and plans to look at the justice system as the main subject of his Masters thesis.
